REF:  C170  - On first inspection of this  village house one might imagine that it would be necessary to hire a bulldozer to clear the site therefore making a desirable space in which to build a new property however, taking a closer look is recommended because this house is not going to cost a lot to restore into a beautiful home.  At present there is an extractor fan in the kitchen which probably is worth more than the entire kitchen according to our man in Chirivel - ideal first home for a DIY enthusiast.

PRICE:     € 46,750   (approx. £31,000)                                                             SOLD

We Do Not Have Photographs Of This Property because it would have been a waste of time taking any
REF: B065: Village house in LAS PROVINCIAS - EL PILAR - Near LUBRIN, About half an hours from MOJACAR
This house is so awful that we think we would have trouble getting a charity to take it off our hands.  Ground Floor : Small room (although tried and tested for swinging a cat), huge room (not quite big enough for a disco) /garage patio. Upstairs: 3 boring rooms. So sure were we that this house would never sell that we couldn't be bothered to take a picture of it.  The plus points are virtually none.  The house is structurally sound and is located in a beautiful area. Mains water and Electricity.
Price:  30,050 Euros (Approx £18,665.00)                                                          SOLD

Hovel of the Month

SURPRISINGLY SOLD

Ref:  Casa Molina - Squeezed in at the end of a terrace, this  house is in a small hamlet (hamlet is another word for small place that nobody has ever heard of or can find).  This hovel consists of 1 room with fireplace, 2 more non descript rooms downstairs and 1 big (ish) room upstairs.  Water and electricity easily connected.  What can we say?   Not worth looking at unless you are seriously into hovel collecting and want to pay a pittance for a pittance.
Price:  € 6010.12  (Approx £3,818 )
Controversial Hovel
Ref:  Nave Martos - A small nave (nave is a word which describes an agricultural building) of 15m2.  The good news about this hovel is that it has 6,600 m2 of land with 50 olive trees.  Water can be obtained from a well and it has good access.  Unless you want to be the Spanish equivalent of an allotment owner this is not the hovel of your dreams.  Lots of people buy a nave hoping that one day they can convince the local council that this is actually not an agricultural building but  a house.  Sometimes it is possible to convince the council of this but not until at least 5 years has elapsed at which point they may or may not allow you to register it as a residence.  If the council doesn't like you or your hovel, they may take another option open to them and bulldoze it down thereby leaving you hovel-less.

Price:  €16,829   (Approx £10,432)                                                      SOLD
Sandwich Hovel

Ref: Cortijo la Piedra - the Spanish translation of la Piedra is "the stone".  You would have to be stoned to buy this or it is possible your family would stone you after you bought it.  Sandwiched in a terrace this property needs a lot of renovation.  It has 5 rooms and what is referred to as a "basic" bathroom downstairs (in reality this probably means a bucket in a corner) and 7 rooms in varying states of disrepair upstairs.  Strangely enough it does have one redeeming feature in that water and electricity are connected - we don't know why.
Price:  € 17,129   (Approx £10,618)                                                      SOLD
C120
Ref: C120 - You have seen train spotters and plane spotters but you have seen nothing like our man Angus McHovel who has been out hovel hunting with a vengeance.  For the less discerning client, this is a huge hovel.  It was in such a spectacular state of disrepair that Angus took more than one picture of it.  If any builder says that the work on this building is not going to cost very much his nose will grow at least three inches in seconds.
Price: € 25,544  (Approx £15,815)
C126 Ref: C126 - This is a medium standard hovel.  There is a bit of a dodgy lock on the front door (as is common with most hovels) but one is pleasantly surprised on entering the dwelling because at first glance it looks as though not much work has to be done to put it right.  This,  of course, is because it is not possible to immediately see the devastating dereliction at the rear of the property.  In some areas the roof has completely collapsed which gives a sort of open plan effect and definitely saves one the additional expense of air conditioning.  There is a small postage stamp size garden in the front of the property.  The hovel has mains water and electricity which would be good if there was some way in which one could use it.  Loads of dosh to do this one up because it is a huge rambling hovel.  Our architect says, given time, this hovel could be restored to a beautiful house, that is if it doesn't fall down before hand - he was smiling at the time.

Price:  € 43,573  (Approx: £26, 826)                                              SOLD

Ref: C143 - HOVEL WITH POTENTIAL.  For a builder or DIY enthusiast this is one hovel that could be converted into a beautiful home.  It is by far the best hovel that we have seen in recent times and it is worth a look for anyone wanting to get involved in a project.

Price: € 45,076   (approx £ 29,135)                                                                                  SOLD

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT HOVELS WE ARE ABLE TO ARRANGE MORTGAGES ON MOST OF THE PROPERTIES ON THIS WEBSITE AND WE COULD ARRANGE MORTGAGES ON HOVELS BUT WE WILL NOT.  STATISTICALLY CLIENTS WHO HAVE  PURCHASED A PROPERTY FROM US,  REQUIRING A MORTGAGE ON A PROPERTY VALUED AT LESS THAN £35,000,  HAVE BEEN STRANGE PEOPLE WHO CAUSE US PROBLEMS.  HENCE WE DO NOT WANT THIS TYPE OF BUSINESS.  ANYONE ACTUALLY NEEDING A MORTGAGE ON PROPERTIES AS CHEAP AS THESE NEEDS TO THINK SERIOUSLY AS TO WHETHER THEY CAN AFFORD TO LIVE IN SPAIN!
